"you definately don't have to tell me twice." he said jumping back and angling the spear across his chest. he ch arged the monster and stabbed right for it's corrupted eye. "i got the top; can you take it out from underneath?" he said swinging and stabbing at the chest and head of the ogre.

"yeah." Sheraton Fired a large Cannon blast at the Beast's legs, just as NetseR delivered his combo. The ogre fell back wards, as though it would die, but simply stood back up, faded as though it were dead. "i'm going to tell you how to use your Delete Ability now. if you bring up your skill screen, you should see that you have an art called 'eradication' it'll only work when the enemy has been killed once, like this one, or when they are able to be Rengeki'd." he explained, switching to his DG-X2. He kept the monster at bay while NetzeR was preparing to delete it...

Netzer opened in the skills menu and quickly selected the 'eradication' skill. Netzer watched as an eight pronged graphic opened centered around his wrist. he lifted his arm and pointed it towards the ogre. the whole effect looked a lot like a flower opening around his wrist. then from his fist a thin cannon-esque thing emerged. he used his right hand to grab his elbow so as to brace himself. then a ball of energy shot and hit the ogre square in the gut. the ogre dissolved and the graphic dissapeared. "well...that was...interesting."

Suddenly the screen inverted, and there were much less data bugs in the scenery. there were still scars, however, and Sheraton was concerned. "what's going on?" he asked himself, or maybe he was asking The World itself. "just deleting a monster couldn't possibly lessen the degree of infection like that. perhaps the computer grunts did something right for a change...?" he crossed his arms in thought, and it was easy to see that his brow was rumpled behind the black shades. he was deep in thought when next his partner spoke.

"you're troubled." it wasn't as much of a question as a statement. "was i, not supposed to do it like that? or did i just pick it up quicker than usual?" he crossed his arms and put his weight on his right foot. the wind blew through the field and rustled his hair and the fur on his hood. "is there something i need to know?"

"look around." Sheraton said, the tail on his right arm swaying disconcertingly. "The field is fixed. That's wrong. Unless something went right upstairs, just destroying the monster that way couldn't have done all this repair." he walked over to the water's edge, dipped his hand into the water and splashed some on his face. His hand lingered on his face awhile, the water streaming down his arm. "It's still tainted." he stood up. "Whatever damage has been done to the world, it'd more than physical. there's damage somewhere fundamental. we need to find that source."

"you figured all that out just by splashing some water on your face?" he walked over and stood next to Sheraton. he looked down at his reflection in the water. 'why do i feel like something...big, is about to happen? something, more important and dangerous than anyone could possibly imagine?' NetzeR looked at Sheraton and saw that he was just as worried.

"as an avid fan of The World R:2, I was given the task of designing alot of this new World's realities. The Grassland feild was one of those things." Sheraton replied to the Moderator behind him, as he stood up. "I was on the original design team for The World Committee back when They first started the brainstorming for R:X." He wasn't sure why he was saying all this, but talking made him less distraught. "regardless..." he returned to the task at hand, gratefull to NetzeR for the trip down memory lane. "There's one more thing we can do here. Follow me."
Sheraton led NetzeR to the Far edge of the field, where the Beast Statue was, and stepped up beside it. "you're about to see something that will blow your mind. be grateful, no normal player has seen this." Sheraton raised his hand and waited. before long a small screen appeared before him and he selected something from the menu. When he was done, The side of the beast Temple was suddenly decorated with white lines that formed a rudementary doorway. "Watch you're step." Sheraton said as he stepped through the graphics.
The place they entered was dark, but only for a minute, because imediately Data strands of all different collors were cascading down on all sides of them. This new world didn't seem to have any discernable boundaries, but they both felt as though the material they were standing on was solid. "a little trick of the mind." Sheraton said, "when dealing with perception and brain patterns, you can make people think they are still obeying laws of phisics, when actually they aren't. Right now there is no floor beneath us, but our minds beleive there is."

netzer found himself speechless as he looked around and saw...nothing. he didn't see anything above him, to his sides, or below him. "that's...strange." netzer was a little surprised, worried, and many other emotions. but he didn't let any of them cross his face.
"so...how was it? designing this world?" he just absorbed what his superior had said. "it must have been exillerating knowing what you were creating for the world; and 'the world'. " he snickered at his own joke.

Sheraton took a minute to answer. "It was...Existential." He replied. "It was the most fun i've had in my entire life. I haven't left the HQ since I was drafted for that." He laughed at himself, and turned to the Punny Moderator. "You've probably seen me. I'm that guy who's always sleeping on the Couch in the Lounge. That's were I spend most of my nights, when I don't have enough coffee to keep me up all night." Sheraton shook his head at his own patheticness. It was worse that being 40 years old and living with your mom.
Shaking himslef free of his wistful trans, he regarded the space with renewed purpose. The data that surrounded them was faltering in some places, and that's what Sheraton Jumped on. "did you see that...? That's the sign that the data was tampered with. It was designed to be perfectly sound both visibly and invisibly."

"so what you're saying...is that...someone is messing up the system from the inside out? but, who at CCCorp would want to destroy everything we, you've, worked so hard to create?" he wrapped his pointer finger around his chin in thought.
